The Camp Zama Horizon

This is the horizon from near the playground on our installation. Sylwia took this picture right after sunset. She tried to get it before the sun went down, but it seems that the sun falls out of the sky here at a rapid pace. She was not fast enough I guess. haha. Well anyway, the mountains are beautiful here and on a clear day you can see the snow top mountains and the shadows the valleys cast. Anyone want to visit let me know.

Fencing Practice

A day at the Navy PX (little different for us Army folks) led to the kids practicing their fencing skills with the assistance of a couple of U.S. Olympic Team Members. Not only did they do this, they got to watch a magic show and a BMX/Skateboard Demo. The weather was beautiful and the shopping, well it was shopping and spending money. So needless to say we all enjoyed the day.

This was our first trip that we went on in Japan. We were lucky that the skies were clear and we could see Mt. Fuji. It is an amazing sight. We are hoping to plan a trip in the summer to actually climb it (at least some of it, lol). We have to take special classes first and it is only open for two months in the summer. Well hope you enjoy the picture.

Parents Alone- FINALLY!!!

For the past two days Sylwia and I were able to enjoy a trip to Boston, MA. My parents were nice enough to watch the kids for us. I will say this is the first time in 9 years that we left our kids for a full overnight. It felt great to have some quality parent time together. We seen so much and stayed so busy. We walked the Freedom Trail and seen many sights along the way. The picture is of us in front of the Bunker Hill Monument. We walked to the top, which was 294 steps. It does not sound like much, but when you do it then talk to us, lol. We had a wonderful meal at a little Italian Resturaunt (more of a bistro). The food was great and the wine, well it was also wonderful, the whole bottle. I think today was the first day that we slept in (hotel room) without our kids coming in to wake us up. I will be honest though, we kept thinking of our balls of joy the entire time.

Great Wolf Lodge, VA

We got to spend wonderful weekend in Virginia on the account of the Army, you can't get better than that ! It's one of the best hotels I have ever been to. The Great Wolf Lodge has a Water Park, Spa, restaurants, shops, Starbuck's :-) and many other cool places inside the hotel, you don't have to leave to have great time, at least we didn't.

Christmas in Germany !!!

We made it to Germany and Poland over Christmas holidays. I have to say, the weather stayed very cold and to leave the house you had to put 10 layers of clothing. We loved the Christkindesmarkt in Nuernberg, had a blast playing hockey on my Uncle's lake (that was Zak's favorite) and we loved shopping. My parents were spoiling the kids but that's what Grandparents are for. We can't wait to go back !!!
