PIZZA NIGHT

One of the traditions at Grandma's house is making a pizza. This time Zak and Maya got to do their own. Pepa was there to help, but I think the kids were to exited to wait. The pizzas were delicious !!!

BIG SURPRISE

The kids and I flew over to NY to see Grandma and Pepa. They had this huge surprise waiting for Zak, a FOUR WHEELER !!! He was speechless and very, very happy. He can't wait to get it down to NC and have some fun with it. Thank you Grandma and Pepa !!!

Gone fishing .....................

Few weekends ago, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the kids and I did a little fishing. To my amazement we all had really good time. Putting the life worms on the hook took a little practice but after a few minutes I was a pro. Maya and Zak got to the point where they were casting their own fishing line, getting a bite and rolling it in. Taking the fish off was a little challenge, so mom had to do it...
We definitely will do it again !!!

Zak really, really loves me .....

Due to the end of the first 9 weeks of this school year, I had to attend a parent-teacher conference. To my delight, Zak has been doing pretty good in school. As a little reward, I told him he's going to get $10 from me, to buy something that he wants. After we got home I started some garage cleaning and the kids were playing outside. I peeked outside to see what they're doing and spotted this little art work. I guess he was really happy about getting the $10.

It's soccer time !!!

Soccer time is our favorite time. Zak loves the game and I love watching him play. For the third year in the roll he's with the Wizards, that means he's got the same coach and a lot of the same players. His team did really good for the past 2 years, so we are hoping for another good season.

Life doll

Maya is having the playday of her life. Instead of using the usual play doll, she got to push Katie around and be a "Mommy". After a few minunes of fun the "Life doll "just got out of the stroller. Maya realized: it's so much easier to play with toys, they listen to you. Katie is the cutest DOLL ever...

First time skating !!!
We celebrated Raineza's (Maya's friend) 5Th Birthday last month, which was held at the Skating ring. Either Maya or I have any experience with that. Zak has been rollerblading before. I think she did very well for her first time and she had a blast doing it. I ended up with a very bruised elbow and sore muscles - I'm just getting old.

Each year, the city of Fayetteville hosts a Greek festival. This is like a little european heaven to me... We have visited Krete couple years ago and just fell in love with it. The food, music, beaches and people are something that I'll always remember. It felt so good to have good greek food, even better bake goods and enjoy all that while listening to the greek music. It was like a dream...

Cape Fear Botanical Garden...

During the month of August, we took a little nature trip to the Botanical Gardens. It is only 25 minute drive from the house, but for some reason we never made it over there. I had no idea that this area had any other trees then pinetrees. It felt so good to see green grass, tall beautiful trees, colorful flowers and hear singing birds. The kids had so much fun running around, trying to catch toadpoles, bugs and finding their way around using a map. It was very relaxing.... we should go there more often.

North Carolina Blue

Few weeks ago, I surprised Zak with a new wall color in his room. We also switched his bed to the opposite wall, so it makes it feel like a brand new room. He really likes it !!! To make things even better, we went shopping and got new comforter and reading pillow. All we need now is matching curtains, which has been a challenge to find.
