Build-A-Bear
On our last trip to NY, Maya's dream came true. Grandma took her to the Build-A-Bear store and let her pick her own bear with all the stuff to go with it. She was in heaven !!! As some of you might know, this place has about anything for those bears: cell phones, shoes, clothes, sunglasses, underpants ....
Today, Maya was playing with Sweetheart (her name) and came to me asking me very seriously:
"When is my Bear going to get old ?" I thought, hard question and asked her "Why?"
Her answer: "Because I want to get a WHEELCHAIR for her !"
Kids can sure make you laugh and yes, they do have little wheelchairs for those bears.

All you need is a little water to have the best time of your life...

Saturday we were invited to Roger's (Zak's friend from 2nd Grade) Birthday party. We had great time and made it home pretty late. The food was great, the people wonderful and the weather warm.
Happy Birthday Roger !!!

Kuwait

After a long flight, Scott finally made it to Kuwait. He got to see his two friends from Ft. Bragg, which was a nice welcome for him. I guess the weather is hot and it's not much to do over there. He hopes to be out of there by next week and start his job.

On the way to Iraq
The time came, Scott left on the 23rd for his 1 yr deployment to Iraq. We stayed with him at the Green Ramp (almost 6hrs) and watched his plane take off . Those 6 hrs were full of laugh and sadness. It was very hard to see him go, knowing he's leaving for a year and going to a dangerous place. We miss him so much already.....

Trip to Myrtle Beach, SC

Last weekend we decided to drive up to the ocean. We spend 4 wonderful hours soaking in the salty water and chasing the kids. Our new neighbors came along with us (Sandra and her 3 kids) so all of them were enjoying the big waves and the sand. We had our lunch right there, enjoying the views and the sun.
We also visited the Myrle Beach Aquarium. We got to see some big sharks, colorful fish and lots of jellyfish. All of that made us hungry again, so off we went on restaurant hunt. They have just about anything there, we ended up eating Italian and it was delicious...
We made it home around 1100 pm (poor Scott had to drive), at least everybody slept in the next morning.

Just spending another hot and humid evening playing basketball with the kids. As you can see Maya needs a little lift so she can slam dunk it. For some reason she can't jump that high yet. She does love to play ball with her big brother and friends. The kids keep trying to get me to lower the basket to make it is easier for them. Who knows maybe I will do it today and surprise them. I wonder if they will notice it If I do.

Back to School

Well it is that time of year again. Zak's first day of school was today. As you can see Maya really wanted to go also. A picture says a thousand words, don't they? Well if you could see what it was like after school. They face wasn't the same and the attitude definitely wasn't the same. I think between Sylwia and I we spent a couple of hours doing homework. It is hard when you get homework on the first day and the weather is beautiful. We hope it gets better as the year goes on, lol. On a different note, Maya will probably be starting pre-K on post this year. The price isn't bad, and she can't wait to go to school. Lets not talk about Sylwia not waiting to get some adult company/child free time. That is it for this entry.

ZAK IS OFFICIALLY A THIRD GRADER!!!!

Training

This was Maya's first lesson, and to our surprise she picked it right up. She was riding her bike the very first day. Now we can't keep her off it. She has only tasted pavement like 3 times which is really good. Oh, by the way, this took place on our vacation to Schenectady, New York, on the 4th of July, at the kids Grandparents house.

Just getting started

Just getting started before I leave. This will allow Sylwia and I to keep everyone informed on what we are up to. Not to mention, this will bring Sylwia up to the same level as the rest of her coffee partners, lol.
